Worship

Brandon and I were talking on the way home in the car (more like I was...not really sure if he was paying attention. He was really tired :) ) and I was just saying how I think sometimes people forget or purhaps don't know the possibilities of what could happen inside worship. Our grandparent's have often spoken of tent revivals were people who were told they could not walk, suddenly walked again. People who were dying, suddenly healed of their unhealable desease. Sadly, our generation has made worship a time of entertainment or they just go threw the motions of what they know they should do.

God made man-kind to worship. All of hell shakes when we sing his praises. They know of the posibilities, they know what can happen. Yet, we sing the song and we go through the motion because we ...are...supposed to..... God threw His Son down to earth and said here, take him, I want to have a relationship with YOU, he went through EVERYTHING that he had to go through to split the vail between the physcial world and the spiritual world and we can't take time to WORSHIP him because we are tired. This week was hard. We're having a bad day. REALLY?!?!?! I'm not saying I'm not guilty. I am sooo guilty. I often find Brandon frustrated because the week's blown by without any warning and Sunday's tomorrow and we have no worship music prepared and we have no idea what we're going to sing. We don't feel prepared and we feel like we are cheating God's worship time, but honestly, I'd rather give him what I have than nothing at all.

During worship today, (which Stephan and Kim lead today and did an AMAZING job) I kept thinking about the scripture in Matthew which talks about how God is looking for worshipers who will be themselves before him.....that's all he wants.....just be yourself before him. Wow.

  1. Wow....well said Kristen! He does want us and it's so hard for some people to believe that he actually wants us even though we are so horrible to Him. I mean, we don't deserve it, but He didn't send Jesus down her for us to just ignore Him. He's always there, we are the ones that are far away!
